Grenade attack injures five in central Mexico: report

A grenade attack in Zapopan, a small city in central Mexican state Jalisco, has injured five people, a local radio station said on Thursday.

Those injured were two children, a 17-year-old boy, a 24-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man. Witnesses said a group of men threw fragmentation grenades into Gomez Farias, a major street near Zapopan' s main church.

Two loud explosions were heard in the city and residents called authorities, who cordoned off the area. Paramedics are helping the wounded on the scene.
