Swiss banks targeted

Switzerland is seeing a sharp rise in spying activities amid the global economic crisis. “We have seen a general interest in financial information,” said Juerg Buehler, head of the Swiss intelligence service. “This trend is reinforced with the financial crisis and competition between financial centers,” notably through cyber-attacks by hackers looking to penetrate banks’ networks.
