They are seeking a consensus on the reinstatement of Cuba in the group. And they are also discussing issues of regional concern such as poverty and the global financial crisis.
The Organization of American States opened its annual assembly on Tuesday.
Members are discussing whether Cuba will be allowed to rejoin the 34-nation group. The country was expelled in 1962.
Although Cuba has indicated that it is not interested in rejoining the OAS, the majority of member countries want to allow the unconditional return of the island nation.
But the US has said it would only vote in favor of the reinstatement if Cuba is open to some political changes.
